Finally, on the road

We left this morning, from Terry's home in Port St Lucie, at 7:15. It was a delightful morning, nice and cool and the miles slipped away without much thought on our part. By noon we were leaving Florida behind. 40 miles into George, we stopped at a rest stop to drink and wonder where all the heat came from. Another 30 miles, after filling our gas tanks, we were donning our rain gear anticpating the ominous clouds ahead. 4 miles later, we were driving though a more than enough rain, the heat just south quickly forgotten. The rain lasted a good 150 miles, at several points heavy enough for us to consider stopping.
We continued on, spending the night in Florence, South Carolina, some 30 miles south of South of the Border. Today was a good 550 miler. By tomorrow, we'll be in and likely through Washington, DC. Rather than York, PA on Monday, we'll likely go through Lancaster, PA .. Amish country, and then Tuesday onto York and Gettsburg.

Here's a couple of pictures from the day.
